Walking with God: Blessings Found in the Religion of His People and the Church of Jesus Christ

I am Bishop Corina Basha, my spiritual journey began in 1978, marking the start of a lifelong walk with God. I am  joyfully married to Gaban Hamac of Alego, and blessed to be the mother of six children. As an elderly woman, I stand today as a living testimony of God’s redeeming power and faithfulness. My journey of walking with God  in the Church of Jesus Christ—Bride of the Lamb Ministries International—began in 2001, after a divine encounter with the servant of God, Icam Caddy. The messages I received through him stirred my heart and led me to make a life-altering decision: to walk with God in truth and holiness in the church of our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the time, my inner life was darkened by sin, and my body bore the weight of past unrighteousness. I lived in fear, haunted by the consequences of my former ways. But God, in His mercy, cleansed me from all unrighteousness and gave me the hope of eternal life. He restored my soul and began to reveal His goodness in ways I never imagined.
My entry into the Church was marked by deep loneliness. Being a Kikuyu woman married to a Luo man, I faced rejection from both communities due to tribal divisions. I was even excluded from family matters, including the painful news of my sister’s passing. Yet, God replaced my isolation with a new family—His people in the Church of Jesus Christ. During times of national elections, they came to comfort me, including our beloved Bride of the Lamb, Darlan Rukih. In their embrace, I found healing and belonging.
My marriage, too, was shaken by tribal prejudice. Some claimed a Kikuyu woman could never remain faithful to a Luo husband, and these words sowed instability in my home. We struggled financially, unable to educate our children. But God intervened. He grounded our household in peace, and today, by His grace, we have a stable home and university graduates. What once seemed impossible has become our reality—because of God.
Before joining the Church, I had lost all hope in worship. I wandered through ten different churches, disillusioned and broken, eventually declaring that I would never step into another sanctuary. I believed I was destined for hell. But God surprised me. He revealed to me the true Church of our Lord Jesus Christ—built upon the foundation of Scripture, where people walk according to His Word. I thought I would simply be a worshiper, but God called me into service. Today, I serve as a Bishop. This is the work of the Lord.
In 2003, God performed yet another miracle. Though I had no income, no recognition, and no resources, He made a way for me to return to college. Today, I serve as the Principal of St. Darlan Rukih Comprehensive Academy. Those who once despised me now admire the work of God in my life. I am known among my people—not for my own glory, but as a vessel of His grace.
It is done. The Lord has done it. To Him be all the glory.
